A Look Ahead to a Great New School Year

never stop creating.jpg

We are looking forward to another musical year and wanted to clarify our official plans for this school year. Our motto this year has been “never stop creating” and we have some new capabilities and creations to offer you.  Thank you for continuing to make music, supporting the school and sticking by your teachers throughout this time.

What lessons can i take?

Both! We are pleased to be able to offer both top-notch online lessons as well as the in-home lessons you’ve come to know and love.

in-home lessons

We realize that being in the comfort of your own home where you can control the environment and supervise the lesson gives you much more control. Our teachers will comply with state requirements and can also offer porch lessons. Teachers will wash their hands before each lesson, and help with wiping down the instrument before and after the lesson.  We ask that you have hand-sanitizer available for your instrument and that everyone involved in the lesson wear a mask. Please cancel if anybody in your family is sick or has been sick. Note: If your current teacher is unable to teach in-home at this time due to health concerns and you really want in-home lessons, we are delighted to offer you another teacher to come to your home. Call us!

online lessons

Online lessons go a step beyond this fall with ultra-flexible scheduling, daytime lessons, an accelerated double lesson program, music video progress reports, student collaborations, Free-styling Friday classes, Songwriting groups and more. We have built extra flex into our policy with two guaranteed make-ups per semester and two annual vacation credits to use when you take online lessons this year. We even have “family and friend” learning pods spreading the fun of making music together.

There’s more! New opportunities and offerings for you:

Music Videos are a new offering for all of our students. Creatapalooza was an inspiring success. This semester, your teacher will be sending you progress reports and fun snippets of lessons and your child will be doing exciting mini projects. By creating and sharing their own videos, students will build confidence, make connections with others and cultivate creativity. We heard glowing reports this spring of students making musical photo “scrapbook” videos to give as Mother’s and Father’s day gifts. This November and December, we will be encouraging students to make videos to share with their family during the holidays with our Holiday Music Video Album project. Students feel encouraged when they get feedback from others, so sharing videos will help propel them on while also spreading joy.

The Magical Masquerade Student Music Video Showcase will be here in October with online performances, music videos, creative celebrations and, of course, a costume contest. Talk to your teacher, pick out your song and find that perfect matching outfit by Sept. 25th!

Let us know what’s important to you this year and let’s make it our most magical yet.
